Mid-Level Structural Engineer

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Mid-Level Structural Engineer. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, San Ramon, Pune or Houston offices.

Summary Statement

This is a mid-level engineering position, working under the supervision of the sr. engineer, engineer of record and project manager. It involves performing aspects of engineering design and application of basic engineering principles for existing and new build transmission structures. The position requires the capabilities to model lattice towers in PLS TOWER software (on the job training will be provided), review other engineer’s design work, and to coordinate internally with ASEC team members as well as with the client directly.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) required
  • 4 – 6 years of structure design experience required
  • Experience in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and transmission line design
  • Knowledge of US codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, NESC, and GO 95)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Not Required but Preferred Skills
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • PE License
  • Experience in PLS-TOWER
  • Experience in RISA 3D, SAPS, or other structural design software
  • Foundation design experience
  • Tower detailing experience

Mid-level Transmission Line Engineer

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Mid-Level Transmission Engineer. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, San Ramon, Pune or Houston offices.

This is a mid-level engineering position, working under the supervision of the senior engineer, engineer of record and project manager, performing aspects of engineering design and application of basic transmission line design principles for existing and new build transmission structures. The position involves the capabilities to model lines using PLS-CADD software, review other engineer’s design work, and to coordinate internally with ASEC team members as well as with the client directly.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification required.
  • 4 – 6 years of transmission line design experience required
  • Experience in the design of transmission structure foundations
  • Experience in the design of engineered steel pole structures
  • Understanding of Sag/Tension Concepts, Basic Conductors, and use of Graphical Sag to determine tension on conductors within utility system.
  • ​Experience in knowledge, use, and application of PLS-CADD.
  • Knowledge of US codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, NESC, and GO 95)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Not Required but Preferred Skills

Principal QAQC Engineer

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Principal QA/QC Engineer. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, or Houston offices.

Summary Statement

This is a principal engineering position, working under the supervision of director of operations and section manager of engineering, performing aspects of engineering design and application of basic transmission line and structural design principles for existing and new build transmission structures. The position involves the capabilities to model lines using PLS-CADD software, review other engineer’s design work, and to coordinate internally with ASEC team members as well as with the client directly. The position will also consist of creating quality standards, developing training materials and being a subject matter expert on design issues.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer’s license required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of transmission line design experience required
  • Experience in the design of transmission structure foundations
  • Experience in the design of engineered steel pole structures
  • Understanding of Sag/Tension Concepts, Basic Conductors, and use of Graphical Sag to determine tension on conductors within utility system.
  • ​Experience in knowledge, use, and application of PLS Programs, including PLS-CADD and an understanding and application of L2, L3, and L4 analysis within it.
  • Knowledge of US codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, NESC, and GO 95)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

Project Controls Specialist

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Controls Specialist with experience in coordinating engineering and design projects for Transmission & Distribution systems in the Power Delivery Industry. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, San Ramon, Pune or Houston offices.

This position involves working under the supervision of the Project Manager. Responsibilities include, scheduling activities, monitoring engineering design, coordinating with the client, and being a point of contact for project and client interactions. The position involves managing internal personnel and speaking into projects to make informed decisions on schedule, budget, and scope.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience working with large data and pivot tables
  • Developing and monitoring project schedules and controls using Microsoft Project or P6
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience working for major Investor-Owned Utilities in the United States

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Manager with experience in managing engineering and design projects for Transmission & Distribution systems in the Power Delivery Industry. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, or Houston offices.

Summary Statement

This is a management position over projects and personnel. It involves working under the supervision of the Director of Operations. Responsibilities include, scheduling activities, monitoring engineering design, coordinating with the client, selling new work, creating proposals and change orders, and being the main point of contact for project and client interactions. The position involves managing internal personnel and speaking technically into projects to make informed decisions on schedule, budget, and scope.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Leading transmission line design projects
  • Developing project scope, schedule, and resource plans to meet project objectives
  • Monitoring project schedules and controlling project costs
  • Creating new proposals and change orders
  • 4 – 10 years of transmission or distribution line industry experience
  • 3 years of project management experience or lead engineer on project experience
  • Experience working for major Investor-Owned Utilities in the United States
    PE or PMP Certification
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
