SCOPE

This project was located in the GO95 heavy and known local wind 85mph zones. Due to challenging land easement constraints and environmental concerns, several different types of designs needed to be evaluated. One major challenge with the project location was the seasonal water logging, preventing the use of typical wooden pole construction. Lastly, this project location also contained several culturally sensitive resources which ASEC needed to plan for during design and construction.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The parent C448 project consisted of 290 poles and section H consisted of a total of 40 poles that utilized 1/0 ACSR covered conductor. Also, 336 ACSR covered conductor was used in a couple of sections due to higher ampacity requirements. For C448, ASEC also worked with the client to move poles from one section to another for better constructability.
