Transmission Engineer Jobs

ASEC Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Mid-Level Transmission Engineer. The position would be for either ASEC’s Denver, San Diego, San Ramon, Pune or Houston offices.

Summary Statement

This is a mid-level engineering position, working under the supervision of the senior engineer, engineer of record and project manager, performing aspects of engineering design and application of basic transmission line design principles for existing and new build transmission structures. The position involves the capabilities to model lines using PLS-CADD software, review other engineer’s design work, and to coordinate internally with ASEC team members as well as with the client directly.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification required.
  • 4 – 6 years of transmission line design experience required
  • Experience in the design of transmission structure foundations
  • Experience in the design of engineered steel pole structures
  • Understanding of Sag/Tension Concepts, Basic Conductors, and use of Graphical Sag to determine tension on conductors within utility system.
  • ​Experience in knowledge, use, and application of PLS-CADD.
  • Knowledge of US codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, NESC, and GO 95)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Not Required but Preferred Skills
  • Master’s in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • PE License
  • Experience in PLS-TOWER
  • Experience managing a technical team

Engineer IV Jobs:

(ASEC, Inc. has an opening in Lakewood CO) Engineer IV: Lead and oversee civil engr. Projects pertaining to ASEC’s transmission, substation, and communication installations. Oversee design engr., drafting, construction package creation, and fabrication drawing review.  Review and approve design calculations and project reports. Manage delivery of assigned projects and tasks.  Be the face of projects to our clients and meet directly with clients to communicate expectations and design initiatives.  Lead the setting of project submittal dates and communicate this and technical concerns to the client directly within the process flow of the project team.  Oversee and review the work of Engineer I, II, and III roles as well as oversee the work of drafters and designers as a part of the projects worked.  Schedule project meetings and coordination for the success of the team and coordinate open and timely communication with the client. Accountable for the success of the teams projects and has a role in setting budgets and forecasts of spend on a monthly basis.  Peer reviewer qualification, independent quality reviewer qualification.  Will manage a design team of up to 5 individuals. Req. Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related and 2 years experience, 2 years must include experience with the following for design of transmission line foundations: (1) PLS-CADD; (2) PLS-POLE; (3) MathCAD; and (4) MFAD or L-PILE. Engineer III Jobs:

(ASEC, Inc. has an opening in Lakewood CO) Engineer III: Oversee and review design engineering of transmission lines, distribution lines, and structures.  Oversee and review design calculations, project reports, and constriction package creation.  Oversee and review foundation designs, structural steel designs, and deliverables. Oversight in fabrication drawings review of other engineers’ work.  Start peer review and review the work from Entry Level Engineer to Engineer II and Drafter and Designer roles.  May act as a team lead on smaller programs.  Main point of contact with Clients via email, remote meeting, and in person meeting.  Req Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related and 1 year experience, 1 year must include experience with the following software: PLS-CADD, PLS POLE, AutoCAD, RISA 3D, and MFAD.
