SCOPE

A new substation was added to provide better protection schemes to include protective relays and a breaker addition. This resulted in the existing line needing to deadend and cut-in into the new substation. OPGW was spliced at multiple locations for the continuity and ease of construction.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Four new 90 Degree dead ends were engineered for this cut-in. New 3/8” EHS galvanized steel cable was added as a shield wire for the cut-in segment. ASEC coordinated the design of the cut-in with the schedule for the substation design and construction completion to minimize outages.
