SCOPE

The CNF project was a series of replacements and upgrades of five existing overhead transmission line circuits with six distribution circuits. The ultimate goal was to increase the reliability and safety of the existing facilities in the high Fire-Threat-Zone in the client’s Electric system.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

ASEC designed engineered steel pole structures (ESP) for the client at various locations along this transmission line. Point loads were generated for transmission and under build distribution circuits at dead-end, running angle, and transmission tower types using ASEC’s proprietary software and load tree drawings were created and sent to the pole vendor. The pole calculations and fabrication drawings were further reviewed for conformance with the design and with the client’s standards. Weathered steel poles were utilized for aesthetic reasons through the Cleveland National Forest.
