The scope of the project was to assess the damaged foundation shaft and stub from the available information and propose a repair scheme for the 230kV double circuit lattice tower with taking limited outages.


ASEC analyzed the existing damage on this 230kV tower foundation and assumed a reduced cross-sectional area of the longitudinal rebar and concrete. The reduced capacity of the foundation was then analyzed using spColumn and the results were then used to determine a repair methodology. A fiber wrap was installed for the above ground damage of the concrete pier.
